Vice-chairman of public school, friend go missing

Rajesh Kumar, vice-chairman of Oxford Green Public School at Sirsa in Greater Noida, and his friend were suspected to have been kidnapped on Sunday. HT reports.

Family members have lodged a complaint with Surajpur police, saying Rajesh has been kidnapped. "A person of Dhada village, who Rajesh had lent a huge sum of money, had called him for repay and kidnapped him. Rajesh, along with his friend, went to meet him. Since then, there's no information about them. His phone is switched off," they said.

The accused's son has been arrested. On Monday morning, Junpat village residents informed about an abandoned Tata Safari car in their area. The car turned out to be that of Rajesh's property dealer friend Ram Kishore. "Investigations have revealed that on Sunday afternoon, Rajesh had come to Ram Kishore's office (C-69) in sector Alpha before they set out for Dhada village. They were seen till 7.30 pm and later went missing mysteriously," said Naresh Kumar, SHO, Surajpur.

"Rajesh's elder brother Rakesh Kumar, who is chairman of the school, has lodged kidnapping case against one Tikam Singh. Till late on Monday evening, there was no breakthrough," said the SHO.

"Rajesh had bought a car from Tikam Singh and on Sunday had gone to take the NoC and the money he had lent to Tikam," a resident of Sirsa told the police.

Student abducted

In another incident, two motorcycle-borne miscreants kidnapped a class 4 student in Noida on Monday. The Police said the boy, Mahesh Sharma, 12, along with his younger sister, had gone to meet his teacher in village Nawada, when he was kidnapped.

The boy studies at a government school in Nawada. The boy's father, Parmod Sharma, works as a labourer.
