A 17-year-old law student was killed after his car fell off a flyover in south Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar in the wee hours of the morning on September 30. The minor had lost control over his car. He had been returning to his home in Noida from a pub in Nehru Place when the accident occurred at 3am near the Ashram flyover.

He is understood to be drunk when he lost control of the vehicle, a Honda Civic, after he reached the 30-ft high Ashram flyover before it fell off it. Singh died after his car crashed in an adjacent PWD godown, where two workers had been sleeping, but remain uninjured.

Four persons — including a 14-year-old child, were killed and four others injured after a speeding car ferrying a drunken trio ran them over on the Safdurjung flyover at 1am. The victims were labourers who were repairing a damaged section of the road leading to India Gate from the INA market. The errant vehicle — zooming away at the blinding speed 130 kmph, first ran into the barricade before crushing 12 labourers beneath it. It came to a stop only after crashing into a stationary tractor.
