If you missed out on the chance to own a flat offered by Delhi Development Authority’s (DDA) last housing scheme in September 2008, a second opportunity is on its way.
In a few months time, the DDA is likely to announce its next housing scheme, offering up to 10,000 flats located in different parts of the city such as Jasola, Narela, Vasant Kunj, Rohini and Dwarka.
Out of the 15,000 being built by the DDA that are at various stages of construction, about 10,000 are nearing completion.
But the DDA is yet to decide a date for announcing the scheme. “Almost 10,000 flats are under different stages of completion but we still don’t have a plan on when the new scheme will be launched,” said Neemo Dhar, Director (Public Relations).
Unlike private developers, the DDA only launches a housing scheme when flats are complete and ready for possession.
For most Delhiites, a DDA housing scheme is their only chance of owning a house within affordable prices in the capital. In its last housing scheme, DDA had offered 5,020 flats including one, two and three bedroom ready-to-move flats priced between Rs 7.95 lakh to Rs 77.80 lakh.
With around 10,000 flats this time, its latest housing scheme is going to be one of the biggest ever.
