The outer Delhi Police have arrested a 32-year-old woman who allegedly got her husband murdered by her paramour and his friend. The police said her husband used to allegedly beat her up as he suspected her character.
The police have arrested Rekha (32), her boyfriend Naveen Kumar (21) and his friend Mandeep Singh (19).
The police said Mandeep and Naveen allegedly stabbed Vinod Kumar (40), Rekha's husband, in Begumpur while he was taking his morning walk on March 23. Vinod and Rekha had a love marriage. He was a commission agent.
"We suspected Rekha, so we focused our investigation on her. Initially, she tried to mislead the probe but she broke down later and confessed that her friends Naveen and Mandeep committed the murder at her instance," said Chhaya Sharma, deputy commissioner of police (outer).
Rekha told police that her husband suspected her character due to which he used to abuse and beat her.
On March 22, Vinod had beaten her severely and she warned him that she would file a complaint against him in a popular TV show through her friend.
Vinod later went to her friend's residence in Rohini Sector-20 and warned the friend not to visit his house. He even claimed that he had led his wife on a wrong track.
"When the friend informed Rekha about this, she got irritated. She told Naveen about this and sought his help. On this, Naveen along with his friend Mandeep conspired to murder Vinod," Sharma added.
Naveen told police that he was giving tuitions to Rekha's children and later had an affair with her.
"Vinod came to know about their relationship. Mandeep disclosed that since Vinod had scolded his girlfriend also, he became an accomplice to teach the deceased a lesson," Sharma further added.
