Will not move a no-confidence motion against government: BJP
The BJP is unlikely to call for a no-confidence motion against the UPA government following the pull out of the DMK, BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar informed.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is unlikely to call for a no-confidence motion against the UPA government following the pull out of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar informed.
Javadekar said the party viewed the pullout of the DMK as a negotiating ploy to extract concessions from the Congress-led coalition.
BJP vice president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and other senior leaders have nevertheless upped the ante against the present government, saying it had gone to the "ventilator" and would collapse soon under its own weight.
Sharpening the party's attack on the UPA government, Naqvi said, "The government is on the ventilator. But if the government manages to run after somehow getting support from here and there then it will not be in the interest of the country."
"The Congress led UPA government is in an ICU. It is a lame duck government surviving on the support of two contradictory parties," BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy said.
The BJP leader also said that government allies were now trying to find excuses to abandon the "sinking ship" of Congress. "The allies one after the other are trying to find excuses and break away. None of them wants to carry the burden of Congress to the next general elections," he said.
All top leaders however have reiterated that the party is not going to move a no confidence motion against the incumbent government.
