Amid rising tempers on the inter-state row over Babhli barrage, a Congress MP from Maharashtra on Wednesday asked TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu to withdraw his protests over the irrigation project.

"I request Naidu not to politicise the issue as it could lead to hatred between the people staying in the boundary areas of Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh," Bhaskarrao Patil Khatgaonkar told reporters in New Delhi.

He said the dispute over the Babhli irrigation project was pending in the Supreme Court.
