A 51-year-old woman died of swine flu (H1N1 virus) at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH) in Delhi on Wednesday.

She was shifted from Yashoda Hospital to Columbia Asia Hospital in Ghaziabad, before being moved to Sri Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH) on December 21.

"The patient at the time of admission to SGRH was in a critical state. She had lung failure and was on high frequency ventilatory support. Her diagnosis at Ghaziabad hospital and SGRH confirmed it to be a case of swine flu. Despite best efforts of doctors at SGRH, the patient expired on December 24 (Wednesday) morning," stated a hospital statement.
