Delhi Police have arrested a 46-year-old woman for hiring contract killers to kill her son after he objected to her extramarital affairs.
On Wednesday, southwest district police had arrested two men for their involvement in a robbery case in Chhawla area. The arrested duo, identified as Umesh and Mahender, then admitted to their involvement in a murder case.
During interrogation, the arrested persons told police that Rajesh alias Lali had hired them to kill her 20-year-old son, Manjeet, when he objected to her extramarital affairs.
She paid the contract killers Rs 2 lakh to kill Manjeet.
“The duo revealed that in January 2011, Rajesh had contacted Mahender and complained about Manjeet’s misbehaviour with her. When Manjeet came to know about her affairs, he scolded his mother and warned her to refrain from such activities,” said AK Ojha, DCP (southwest).
“On January 29, Mahender contacted Manjeet and called him to accompany them to Punjab on the pretext of meeting a girl. They boarded a train from Bahadurgarh to Sangrur, Punjab,” Ojha added.
In the evening, they reached Lehra, a small town in Sangrur, where they consumed liquor together.
“When Manjeet got highly intoxicated, Mahender and Umesh took him to an isolated place and assaulted him with bricks and knife. They also smashed his face with stones, so that his identity could not be ascertained,” Ojha added.
