The victim identified as Deepak Kumar lives in Dabri. On April 22, the other two accused Raju and Badruddin Khan threw acid on Kumar. Kumar lost his right eye in the incident.

“Jaya depended on the victim as her husband does not live here. She even discouraged him from leaving the job. When he spurned her advances, Jaya hatched a conspiracy to attack the victim,” said Shalini Singh, DCP (southwest).

On the fateful day, Khan hired Kumar’s taxi and asked him to come near DDA Park at Mahavir Enclave. “When he reached the park, Raju threw acid on him,” said Singh.

A case was registered and the police arrested Raju who confessed to the crime. Following his arrest, Jaya and Khan were held.
