Women power seems to be on a roll this year. After a number of protests and petitions against sexual harassment, a group of young women in the city are aiming to make entrepreneurs of other ladies in order to empower them. Organised by Biz Divas, a non-profit organisation started a year and half ago by three women bankers, Sarika Gupta Bhattacharyya, Ranjana Deopa and Priyanka Awasthi, the meetup called I-Inspire wants to help women become economically independent. “The world is not yet open to accepting women entrepreneurs. That’s when we decided to help other women like us,” says Sarika.
At the event, a panel of noted international women leaders will be sharing insights of tasting success as a woman entrepreneur. Also, filmmaker Vikas Bahl will be sharing his experience of working with an 80% woman crew for his upcoming movie Queen, starring Kanagana Ranaut. “We hope that a lot of women will be inspired to take a step towards setting out on their own,” says Bhattacharya.
