Additional sessions judge Sanjeev Kumar held Rahim, 21, guilty, and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on him.
According to the prosecution, Rahim, a resident of Prem Nagar, had tried several times to strike a conversation with the girl, who lives in the same locality, but she ignored his advances.
On June 23, 2011, when the girl was going out with her friend, the accused called her inside his house. He sprayed a substance on her face after which she fell unconscious. Rahim then sexually assaulted her, the prosecution told the court.
Later the accused threatened to kill her father if she told anybody about it.
However, the judge acquitted Rahim of charges of kidnapping and threatening the girl on the ground that there were contradictions in her statement. The court rejected Rahim's claim that it was consensualphysical relationship.
