“I was on my way home when four men got down on the track and stopped the trains. They created a lot of commotion and misbehaved with the guards. It took around half an hour for the service to resume,” said Rashmi Mahindroo, 34, who works at a coaching centre in Noida.

The Metro staff, meanwhile, handed over all the four accused to the police and demanded that strict action be taken against them. “We have no idea why the fight broke out. These were some others who joined them, but only the four were caught. They were handed over to the police,” said a DMRC spokesperson.

According to some passengers, however, the fight broke out when a guard on the station asked the youths not to push other passengers.

“The youths were trying to get on the train before others could disembark and when the guard tried to stop them, it resulted in a fight,” said a passenger. The incident occurred at 6.20pm and trains were held up till 6.45 pm.

“It was a big nuisance. If they had a problem, they should have gone to the officials,” said Deeksha Yadav, a DU student.
