Their grandfather Bhagwan Paswan, 60, who suffered injuries is undergoing treatment at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

The police said both the kids were on their way to school in G-block, Saket when a speeding cluster bus hit them. They were immediately taken to the nearby hospital, where doctors declared Rishika brought dead while Shailesh succumbed to his injuries two hours later.

After the accident, people gathered at the spot and the driver of the bus fled from the spot.

“As we were crossing the road, I saw the speeding bus. I signalled to the driver to slow down, but he didn’t. He dragged all of us and killed our children,” said Paswan, the kid’s grandfather.

Remembering their last moments, Paswan said his grandkids were discussing their homework.“When we were crossing the road, we were alert, but the bus driver had clearly lost control of his vehicle,” said Paswan.

“Both the kids were attached to their grandfather, who would drop them to school every day. I was about to leave the house when the news came in,” said Jitender Paswan.

Demanding arrest of the driver, the family members gathered near the accident spot and blocked traffic. Senior police officers reached the spot and brought traffic under control.

The police have registered a case and senior officers assured that all efforts will be made to arrest the driver.
