CBI opposes bail to accused in corruption case

NEW DELHI: The CBI on Thursday opposed before a court the bail pleas of two persons arrested in a graft case involving Delhi CM’s former principal secretary Rajendra Kumar.
The agency said allegations against them were serious and they cannot claim parity with Kumar, who was recently granted the relief.

Special CBI judge Arvind Kumar heard arguments on the bail applications of Kumar’s close aide Ashok Kumar and managing director of a PSU RS Kaushik and reserved the order for August 1.
The bail plea moved by both the accused on the ground of parity with Kumar, who was granted bail on July 26 by the court, was on Friday opposed by the probe agency.
