No closure report in cow slaughter case
GREATER NOIDA: The city police on Tuesday refuted reports published in a section of the media claiming that they were going to file a closure report in the FIR of cow slaughter filed against Mohammad Ikhlaq and six of his kin.
Pradeep Kumar Singh, in-charge of Jarcha police station said: “It is true that we have not found anything substantial against the accused, but the matter is still under investigation and we never said that we are going to file a closure report. We are probing the matter from all angles.”
Ikhlaq, 55, was killed while his son Danish was critically injured when a mob of locals attacked their residence at Bisada village over allegations of slaughtering a cow and storing its meat for consumption on September 28 last year.

The samples were sent for a forensic test at Mathura lab, reports of which confirmed it belonged to a cow or its progeny.
“The forensic teams have visited the spot where the villagers alleged the cow was slaughtered about a month back. The area was sealed and all possible forensic evidences recovered. The matter is under investigation,” said Abhishek Yadav, superintendent of police (rural), Gautam Budh Nagar.
He said closure report will be filed only if nothing is found in the investigations.
