Fourteen girls have come forward to lodge a case of molestation against their teacher from a government school in Jalalpur here.

This is the second incident of molestation attempt by a government teacher in past 10 days reported from the Murad Nagar block.

The girls belong to classes VI, VII and VIII standard at Jalalpur government school in Murad Nagar block of Ghaziabad.

They submitted their written complaint to the police on Monday against their English teacher Krishna Avtar Tyagi (57).

The complaint of a Class VIII student read: “He used to touch us and passed lewd comments on the girls in our school. We cannot narrate the type of comments he used to make. We want this teacher to be removed.”

Late Monday night, the police lodged a case and reported the matter to the basic education officer.

“The suspension procedure is underway. In future we would hand over such offenders to the police after conducting departmental action,” said Rajesh Srivas, district Basic Education Officer.

“This is a serious matter and we have lodged an FIR under section 354 (molestation) of the IPC. The accused is absconding but he would be arrested soon,” Superintendent of Police (SP) Capt. M.M. Baig said.
