A 17 year old girl, a student of Jamia who went missing mysteriously on Saturday afternoon, was found outside Holy Family Hospital later in the day.

According to the police, the victim’s family alleged that two boys picked her from outside a chemist shop and was given some sedative.

“She is a Class 11 student of Jamia and had gone to a medical shop when she was abducted. Two hours later she was found dumped in an unconscious state and locals rushed her to nearby hospital,” said a senior police officer, who didn't want to be named.

Her father works as a guard in Jamia university and the family lives in government accommodation in Ajmal Bagh area.

“We have conducted the girl’s medical examination and she is not fit to give statement yet. The sequence of event could be established after her statement only,” the officer added.

Senior police officer, however, ruled out rape. “The report of chemical examination is yet to come. She is still unconscious. We have registered a case of kidnapping and investigations are on,” Virendra Chahl, joint commissioner of police (southeast), said.

“There is no eyewitness. The girl had given some details to doctors when she was brought there. She gave a mobile number and name and we got it verified,” the officer added. The mobile number is of a boy from Shakarpur in east Delhi, he said.
