Two persons allegedly involved in several cases of car theft and auto lifting have been arrested, police said on Saturday.

Yudhbir Singh alias Katta and Sachin alias Rajesh, both 20-year-old and residents of Najafgarh, were arrested last night from near I P University at Sector 17 Dwarka after receiving specific information about their movement in the locality,
Anil Kumar Ojha, DCP South West district said.

Both the accused were moving in a car without a number plate and when asked to stop, they stopped in front of the barricade and tried to flee but were overpowered and arrested, the official said.

With their arrest, police claimed to have busted a notorious gang of vehicle lifters and have also recovered five motorcycles from Janta flats of Sector 16 B, Dwarka, New Delhi.

The duo disclosed about one Amit, who was also involved in many auto thefts, but did not join them yesterday.
Efforts are on to nab him, Ojha said.
