Dengue cases are on an all-time high, with the city reporting 71 new confirmed cases on Saturday. The total number of people affected by the disease has reached 1226, with three deaths, so far, this year.

All the three victims were children under 12 years of age. Residents claim the government figures are grossly underreported, as the actual numbers of people affected with dengue in the city are much higher.
Meanwhile, the city also reported two confirmed influenza A H1N1 deaths on Saturday. With 46 new confirmed cases reported on Saturday, the total number of people affected with the disease shot up to 1133.
