Delhi Police have arrested two boys for killing their friend near Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) on May 18.
According to police the accused wanted to purchase Swift Dzire car of the victim, identified as Harnoor Singh,
but the deal went wrong and they killed him in order to rob the car.

The accused have been identified as Harpreet Singh (24) and Sarbjeet Singh (23), a native of Ludhiana. Harnoor’s body was recovered behind a petrol pump near IGI airport on May 18.

“Harnoor wanted to sell his car as he was facing financial problems, but Harpreet, his close friend, wanted to own the car without paying for it. Harpreet along with his cousin and another person conspired to kill Harnoor and flee away with the car,” said V Renganathan, DCP (west). Another accused in the case, Jodhbir Singh, is still absconding.

On May 18, Harpreet called Harnoor over the phone and asked him to come to the petrol pump near IGI airport for meeting. The trio had already bought a knife and rope from Ludhiana to execute the plan. The trio then murdered him in the car and fled from the spot.

“With the help of technical surveillance, call details and other specific inputs we managed to nab Harpreet and his co-conspirators from Ludhiana,” added Renganathan.

The accused had also brought along spare clothes to dress-up after committing the crime.

Harnoor Singh was a Class XII student from School of Open Studies and his father provides taxi service to call centres in Gurgaon. He had recently shifted to Delhi from Punjab.
