Four men, including two alleged interstate highway robbers, were arrested in northwest Delhi, police said on Monday.

In the first instance, one Tausib and Abid were arrested from near the wholesale fruit and vegetable market in Azadpur for robbing a truck laden with CNG cylinders from adjacent Ghaziabad on July 29, said P Karunakaran, DCP (northwest).

“During interrogation, they disclosed that they had taken a lift in a truck containing LPG cylinders on Saturday evening and, after the vehicle had moved some distance away from the point of pick-up, they overpowered the truck driver at gunpoint and tied him up with rope,” said DCP Karunakaran.

According to police, the duo then threw the victim in a pit near Baghpat’s Khekhara district.

In another case, one Vinod and his juvenile accomplice were arrested for robbing and murdering a cyclist in northwest Delhi’s Jahangirpuri.
Around 7 pm last Friday, the police had received a call informing them about the victim, later identified as a tea vendor at adjacent Gandhi Vihar, who had been found lying in a pool of blood on the Shah Alam Bandh Road.
