Delhi government is exploring the possibility to construct two new bridges across the Yamuna. While one bridge is proposed between Sonia Vihar in northeast Delhi and Burari in north Delhi, the other has been proposed between Teen Pushta and Chandagi Ram Akhara in north Delhi.

Delhi PWD minister said the two bridges would help reducing traffic on the Wazirabad and the Kashmere Gate bridges.

The plan was discussed during the review meeting of the PWD road projects, which are at the planning stage, at Delhi Secretariat on Thursday. The minister also discussed the proposal of making Shastri Park crossing signal free.

The proposal to connect Ring Road and Outer Ring Road on the disused stretch of Haiderpur canal was also discussed.

The extension of Barapullah elevated road, proposed flyovers on Outer Ring Road to make the road signal free Janakpuri to Wazirabad and the project to make the Ring Road between Shalimar Bagh and Azadpur signal free was also discussed.
