24-year-old HCL engineer robbed, later dumped

In a shocking incident, car-borne criminals kidnapped an HCL software engineer on Monday night, kept driving with him for five hours from Noida to Delhi and withdrew Rs 88,000 through his ATM card before dumping him in Ghaziabad.

According to the police, the assailants also looted his cellphone and the cash he was carrying before throwing him out of the car in Sahibabad industrial area.

The 24-year-old engineer, Prateek Manglik, stays in Sector 71 and works at the HCL office in Sector 124. The police found him in the morning and sent him home. “We have got ATM transaction details and CCTV footages. The case will be cracked soon,” said a senior police officer. The incident took place when Manglik was returning home from work.

“They stuffed a cloth in my mouth, thrashed me and took out cash using my

ATM card twice from a Patpadganj ATM counter. The police first took me to my sister’s house in Vaishali,” the victim said.
