25,998 Indian visas issued in Islamabad in first six months

India has issued as many as 25,998 visas in the first six months through its mission in Islamabad.

Out of total number of 46,881 applications received for visas, Indian high commission in Islamabad has issued 25,998 of the travel documents as against 52,214 visas it issued in 2009, External Affairs Minister S M Krishna said while replying to a question in the Lok Sabha today.

The high commission had received 92,467 visa applications in 2009.

He said visas to Pakistani nationals are issued subject to fulfilment of requirements as per the visa manual.
