A 25-year-old man was arrested for sodomising, intimidating and finally stabbing a 15-year-old boy in west Delhi’s Mayapuri on Wednesday afternoon.
The victim, a migrant labourer from Bihar, had come to the city seeking a job and had approached the accused for help, police said.
“The accused, identified as Mohammad Arif, hails from the same village as the victim and works at an inverter factory in Mayapuri’s D block,” said a senior police officer.
According to the police, Arif had invited the victim to stay at his own quarters in the said factory’s premises with him for a couple of days so that the victim could have a first-hand experience of the work before making any decision of joining,” the officer said.
“On Wednesday afternoon, when the minor was sitting outside the factory after lunch, Arif approached him and asked him to follow him to his room to watch the Republic Day celebrations on television. The victim was sodomised minutes later after being trapped in the room by Arif,” said the officer.
Police said Arif then threatened the victim to keep shut if he wanted to live and attempted to force himself on him again.
“But when the victim resisted, Arif stabbed him eight times with a knife and forced him out of his room. One of the victim’s acquaintances saw him lying in a pool of blood and intimated us,” the officer said.
Police said the victim was rushed to the Deen Dayal Upadhayay Hospital where medical examination confirmed sodomy. “We have arrested Arif and sent him to the Tihar Jail for sodomy and attempt to murder,” the officer added.
