A 26-year-old businessman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his own vehicle parked on a roadside in southeast Delhi's Sarita Vihar area on Wednesday evening, police said. HT reports.
A 26-year-old businessman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his own vehicle parked on a roadside in southeast Delhi's Sarita Vihar area on Wednesday evening, police said.
Mohammad Sabir, a resident of Okhla Vihar and a small-time transport operator, was found shot dead in his Santro car parked near the Okhla Vihar flats around 5 pm. "We rushed the victim to the Holy Family Hospital immediately after being informed about the incident. However, he was pronounced brought dead on arrival," said a senior police officer.
Hailing from Dasna in Uttar Pradesh, Sabir was understood to have been under tremendous mental duress for the last few days and had last been seen with one of his friends identified as Taj Mohammad.
"During initial questioning, his friends and family told us that the victim was very superstitious and, for the last couple of days, was under tremendous stress after being given the impression the he was under someone's spell," the officer said.
Even as Sabir's vehicle was taken into police custody to get it examined by forensic experts to ascertain the reason behind his death, investigators are looking for Taj Mohammad.
"A case of murder has been registered at the Sarita Vihar police station and investigations are underway," the officer added.
