A computer engineer and two call centre employees, including a woman, allegedly committed suicide in the national capital, police said on Wednesday.
Diwakar Pandey, a 22-year-old computer engineer, allegedly took the extreme step on Wednesday as he was under depression for the past few months due to debt, they said.
The incident took place in Dabri area of south-west district. Pandey was found hanging by his family members who informed police. No suicide note has been recovered.
In another incident, Amit Kumar (24),a call centre employee, was found hanging in his flat at Ambedkar Nagar of south Delhi on Tuesday by his brother Piyush who went to meet him.
Piyush informed police after his brother did not answer his calls. Police broke open the door and found him hanging. No suicide note has been recovered from his possession.
Amit was working in WIPRO call centre in Okhla and was a native Mugalsarai in Uttar Pradesh.
His father Akhileshwar Singh is the branch manager of Central Bank of India in Gorakhpur while his younger brother, Piyush is pursuing his BCom degree from Delhi University.
In another incident, 25-year-old Suman was found hanging in her New Ashok Nagar residence in east Delhi on Wednesday by her husband Pradeep Negi. Suman was working in a call centre in Noida and wanted to continue with the job but Pradeep was allegedly against it.
The couple used to have argument over the issue from time to time and this could be the reason behind her extreme step, police said. No suicide note has been recovered from her possession. The couple have a daughter.
Suman's parents alleged that she was being harassed for dowry.
Police have arrested Pradeep and a SDM inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
