Four days after they allegedly attempted to rob an elderly couple in northwest Delhi’s Mukherjee Nagar, the Delhi Police apprehended three persons — including the victim’s driver, for involvement in the crime.
According to police, Sunil Kumar (42) and Ravinder Singh (36) — two UP-based criminals armed with country-made pistols and knives had barged into 68-year-old Rajender Khosla’s Outram Lines residence with the intent of robbing him and his wife, Santosh.
“Both were accompanied by Raj Singh (36) — the couple’s driver, who had also provided them information about his employer’s daily routine and connived in the crime,” said a senior police officer on condition of anonymity.
Police said Sunil provided valuable inputs leading to the arrest of his associates.
“During interrogation, Sunil told us that Ravinder and his accomplices hatched the conspiracy after Raj Singh gave them inputs about Khosla’s background,” said the officer.
Police said two country-made pistols, a Tata Indica car and a motorcycle have been recovered from the possession of the accused.
