3 students hit by speeding car, driver fleds

Three students, who were on their way to appear for examinations, were on Tuesday injured in the national capital when a speeding car veered off the road and hit them on the footpath.

Atul, Jai and Surabhi were walking towards DAV Public School in Defence Colony when the incident took place around 9.30 am, police said.

While Jai and Surabhi are Class VI students, Atul studies in Class VII. All of them are residents of Sunlight Colony.

The students were walking on the footpath when the car climbed on it and hit them, police said.

The driver fled from the scene soon after the incident leaving the car at the spot.

Police are trying to contact the owner of the car and efforts are on to nab him.
