The 33-day long workers’ strike finally came to an end at 3pm on Saturday after an agreement was signed between them and the management of the Manesar plant of Maruti-Suzuki India Limited.
“The workers will resume duty from October 3 after signing the ‘good conduct bond’ as desired by the management,” said a source in the deputy commissioner office Gurgaon.
As per the agreement, the termination orders of 15 workers issued between August 29 and September 15 will be revoked.
Similarly, the 18 trainees who had been fired for supporting the striking workers will be reinstated. It was also decided that the workers will not be paid for the period of strike, beginning August 29.
