5 held with fake currency

Five men were on Tuesday arrested by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police for allegedly smuggling in fake currency notes from Pakistan. The police claimed to have recovered counterfeit notes worth over Rs 10.57 lakh from their possession.

“The accused used to smuggle in the fake notes in planes or trains or buses,” Neeraj Thakur, DCP (crime) said.
The accused— Shan Mohd (21), Mohd Naim (22) and Mohd Shahrukh (21), all residents of neighbouring Ghaziabad—were caught near the Rajouri Garden Metro Station by a team led by ACP Rajender Bakshi.
Two others Vipin Gupta (25) and Omvir Singh (22) were caught from Jehangirpuri.
