A 50-year-old man, who was involved in more than 1,000 cases of vehicle thefts in south Delhi, was arrested on Tuesday along with his accomplice.
The accused, identified as Nabi Hussain, used to target old Maruti cars belonging to government officials in Lodhi Colony area and later sell them in the grey market.
The police said Hussain had been stealing cars for the past 32 years. He has already been convicted in 20 cases.
The police said Hussain targeted cars parked outside government offices and government quarters.
