An eight-year-old girl, who was found alone by the crew of a DTC bus late Sunday night, was reunited with her family by the local police.

The girl, who lives in a slum cluster located in north Delhi's Timarpur with her grandparents, had boarded a DTC bus running on route number 429 between DDA Flats Kalkaji and Delhi Gate, from Bhogal in south Delhi at about 10.50 pm.

"When the bus reached at Delhi Gate at about 11.15pm, all the passengers got down but the girl kept sitting in the bus. When the bus driver asked about her name and residence she could not answer. Keeping in view the sensitivity of the matter, the local police was contacted. A team of Darya Ganj police station managed to locate her address and handed over the child to the family," a DTC official said.
