Reports of corruption in tender process, delay in execution and poor quality of construction of several Commonwealth Games related projects is likely to echo in the Assembly on first day of Delhi Vidhan Sabha's monsoon session on Tuesday.

While the opposition will corner the Congress government inside the Assembly, the Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will gherao the assembly and the chief minister outside the Vidhan Sabha.

“There is heavy bungling in the Commonwealth Games and the government has also failed to curb price rise and reduce power tariff. We are holding a strong demonstration outside the assembly and will demand Sheila Dikshit's resignation,” Delhi BJP president Vijendra Gupta said.

Kick-starting Tuesday, the five-day monsoon session will conclude on August 23. The session holds importance in view of upcoming Commonwealth Games, which are going to be held in New Delhi in October this year.

While the government has decided to introduce The Delhi Tax on Luxuries (Amendment) Bill, 2010, the opposition BJP will rake up the Commonwealth games issue, price rise and deteriorating law and order situation in the Capital in short duration discussions in the session.

According to Delhi assembly speaker Yoganand Shastri, more than 500 questions have been received from various members of which 431 questions would be raised during the question hour in five days of the session.
