Love drove them to murder. While two youths were arrested for killing a man after he assaulted them for passing lewd comments at his wife in outer Delhi, a 26-year-old call centre employee and her paramour were arrested for her husband’s murder in south Delhi.
"Naveen, 24, and Rajender, 22, were arrested for killing Sushil, 23, on December 28. The incident took place inside a shop in Narela," said Chhaya Sharma, DCP (outer).
Sushil was good friends with both Naveen and his wife Preeti.
"Sushil and Preeti were going somewhere when Naveen passed some lewd comments at Preeti. Sushil did not like it. In January 2009, Sushil assaulted Naveen and left him bedridden for almost a year," she said.
In the other case, Navinder Rawat’s wife and three others were arrested for his murder. Rawat, a Lower Division Clerk in the HRD ministry was shot dead outside his residence in Neb Sarai on February 3.
"His wife Aarti, her paramour Rishi Kumar, 30, and their associates, Praveen, 21, and Sumit Kumar, 21, have been arrested," said HGS Dhaliwal, DCP (south). Aarti decided to get rid of her husband because of their 'cultural differences'.
"She came in contact with Rishi two years ago on the bus she took to work and back. Their friendship turned into a relationship and she decided to get rid of him," Dhaliwal said.
