A portal that helps map global citizens

delhi Updated: Mar 30, 2007 12:56 IST

Here's your chance to scratch the soul of your favourite actor, rock star or author and get to know the real him. A new portal scratchyoursoul.com promises to map the life of those you love or love-to-hate with just the click of a mouse.

Raghav Chandra, a senior IAS officer and the brain behind the portal, has developed a "global perception rating framework" which, he says, will help rate personalities according to their ethics and ideals.

The tool has been employed by Conscience Compass, the hosts of the portal, to help users rate personalities on various scales.

On the eve of the launch of the portal, Pravir Krishak of Conscience Compass, told the agency: "scratchmysoul.Com is a comprehensive internet site for mapping the global citizen.

"But it's not just souls that cyber buffs can scratch here. They can also try their hand at 'mind mapping', 'body mapping', 'relationship mapping' and 'weaknesses and strengths mapping' and rate their favourites," he said.

While "mind mapping" will rate competence, "body mapping" will unravel personal attributes like style of talking, reading interests and spending habits of the subject.

A viewer can get an idea of the content by flipping through questions posted on the site. How respectful of other cultures is M F Husain? Does (George W) Bush believe more in war or dialogue? Who has a higher humour quotient: Rajat Sharma, Prabhu Chawla, Karan Thapar or Vir Sanghvi?

A surfer can view his idol's ability to make friends and influence people by mapping relationships. There will also be regular updates on the many bouquets or brickbats the celebrities get. And feedback will be used to add "newsworthy" people.

Though the site has initially been hosted in English, Hindi and Mandarin services may follow soon.
