Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arun Jaitley on Tuesday said that the protest staged by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supporters outside his house was a mere political gimmickry.

The protest came a day after the BJP leader had in a tweet rubbished the claims of the AAP made on Monday in which the party blamed Jaitley, along with Narendra Modi and Harsh Vardhan of trying to lure AAP candidates with money to break away from the Arvind Kejriwal-led party.

"The BJP is scared of the AAP's rising popularity. Narendra Modi, Arun Jaitley and Harsh Vardhan are conspiring to bring down the Delhi government," AAP leader Sanjay Singh had claimed at a press conference.

"AAP is a party of pathological liars," he said.
