The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday claimed it had established what had happened to the murder weapon and mobile phones in the Aarushi murder case.
In an informal meeting with journalists a day before he retired, CBI Director Vijay Shanker said the details regarding the murder weapon and mobile phones would be disclosed in a charge sheet.
The CBI’s latest claim adds another twist to the case, as it now seems that the weapon and mobile phones were destroyed after the murders. The CBI said it had hard evidence against the accused.
Earlier, the CBI had given a clean chit to Aarushi’s father, Dr Rajesh Talwar, after confirming that servants Krishna, Raj Kumar and Vijay Mandal had killed Aarushi and Hemraj.
The agency had said that, based on forensic and narco-analysis reports, they had concluded that Raj Kumar and Krishna killed Hemraj and Aarushi. Since then it has since been looking for corroborative evidence to support its case.
The CBI said the three accused had admitted to the crime in their narco-analysis tests. But experts questioned whether narco-analysis could be the basis of their arrest in absence of any supporting evidence.
According to the CBI, on the night of May 15-16, Krishna, Raj Kumar and Vijay Mandal cane to Hemraj’s room after which they murdered the two.
