About 18 lakh people visited the 14-day India International Trade Fair (IITF) at Pragati Maidan, which concluded today.
“The fair this year elicited around 18 lakhs visitors, including 55 foreign delegates and 400 business visitors from 48 countries,” India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) CMD LC Goyal said.
‘Digital India’ will be the theme for the next fair. This year’s theme was ‘Make in India’, he said.
The 35th edition of the India International Trade Fair, the flagship event of the ITPO, concluded with an award presentation ceremony, a statement said.
Quoting finance minister Arun Jaitley, it said the minister wished ITPO to carry forward its ambitious plan to redevelop the exhibitions and convention centre according to global standards.
India International Trade Fair provides an ideal platform to showcase quality products and strength of the Indian industry, besides opening new avenues to learn from competitors, Jaitley said.
This year, South Africa bagged the gold medal followed by South Korea with silver, while Egypt achieved the Jury recommendation in the foreign participation category, ITPO said.
About 7,000 firms from India and abroad participated in the 14-day fair.
While Afghanistan was the ‘Partner Country’, Bangladesh was the ‘Focus Country’ for the event.
