The family of the Delhi rape accused may have to face the backlash for his dastardly crime.

The villagers in Bharathua in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar have been seething with anger over the bestial crime of Manoj Kumar, a native of Bharathua.

Kumar had escaped to his native village after committing the crime at his rented room in east Delhi's Gandhi Nagar. After spending a day there, he left for the village of his in-laws, Chiknauta from where he was eventually arrested by the police.

The villagers at Bharathua held an emergency meeting on Saturday and called for a 'social boycott' of the entire family of the arrested Delhi rape accused.Manoj's shocked grandfather, Hari Sah, said Manoj, along with his father, had left the village nearly two decades ago. "Since then, Manoj and his family seldom visit the village," said Sah, who lives in Bharathua with his wife. The accused had married a Chiknauta girl about a year ago, after several months of courtship.
