ACP among 8 injured in four accidents in 24 hours

In the first incident, Surender Sharma, an ACP posted in north Delhi, faced minor injuries after his official vehicle was hit by a speeding Audi car at Aurobindo Marg in Hauz Khas area at 5.15 am on Sunday. Sharma was taken to AIIMS from where he was discharged after first-aid.
A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered at the Hauz Khas police station.
In the second incident, a truck driver lost control and hit three vehicles at the Munirka traffic light at 3 am on Sunday. Three persons, an auto driver, a cyclist and a biker, were hurt. The driver of the truck fled, leaving the truck behind. A case has been registered against him at the Vasant Vihar police station. Police have impounded the truck.
In another incident, two men were hit by a tourist bus at Mandir Marg. "Mohan TM, 40, and Murlidharan Nair, 42, were hurt and are recuperating in a hospital. Nair's condition is said to be critical," a senior police officer said.
Both the injured work with a government bank and were on a morning walk when a bus bearing Rajasthan number hit them. The driver of the bus managed to flee.
In the fourth accident, two women suffered minor injuries after being hit by an unidentified vehicle in south Delhi's Shahpur Jat area on Sunday evening. Police are taking their statements to trace the vehicle and the driver.
