LK Advani's yatra promising good governance may be launched from October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. He intends to travel to important towns and cities to address rallies and meeting during the yatra, which may last up to 40-45 days and covering not less than 6,000 km. Advani may chose Porbandar, which was also the venue of the second phase of his Bharat Uday Yatra in 2004.
Deepak Chopra, long-standing aide of Advani, went into a huddle with security officials to chalk out the programme. Chopra has been associated in preparing his five yatras earlier since the first one, Ram Rath Yatra, in 1990. Party leaders Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley backed Advani and say the BJP fully supports the yatra. Swaraj said: "Why do you people assume that Advani will be alone in the rath yatra. We all will be there with him." She evaded replying to question whether Adavani will be PM candidate in 2014.
