Ahlcon celebrates 'Vasantotsav'

Ahlcon International School, Mayur Vihar, celebrated ‘Vasantotsav’, a three-day musical extravaganza. The festival began with the lamp lighting ceremony by the school president, Bikramjit Ahluwalia, Chairperson, Dr Rohini Ahluwalia and principal Shri Ashok K Pandey. The occasion was graced with the presence of Kathak dance exponent, Pt Rajendra Gangani as the chief guest and Pt Ajay Bhambi as the guest of honour. Everyone was mesmerised with the soul-stirring performance of Pt Gangani. Her Excellency Theresa Cutazar, High Commissioner of Malta, graced the first day of the inter-school music and dance competitions. Over 400 students from 19 schools participated in competitions such as Classical Song, solo and Folk Dance and Tabla Jugalbandi.

Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan, celebrated the annual prize distribution ceremony. The chief guest was Usha Pillai, regional president AWWA, Delhi Area w/o Lt Gen VK Pillai, AVSM, SM, GOC Delhi Area and was welcomed by the Principal Anshu Sahi, Vice-Principal Mridula Pant, and Manager Lt Col RJ Singh. The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest. A contemporary ballet — ‘Evolution to resolution’ on the theme of love and compassion was performed followed by an English play ‘The Grimm Reaper’ and the dance number “Man ke manjeerey”.

Delhi Public School, Vidyut Nagar, Dadri, organised its scholar’s day to honour and acknowledge excellence in Scholastic and Co-Scholastic activities. The Scholars of session 2010-11 were felicitated in the presence of the chief guest, SN Banerjee, Regional Executive Director (NC) NTPC Ltd, Ujjwal Banerjee, AGM (HR) NTPC, Dadri and other dignitaries. A total number of 298 students were awarded with Scholar Badges. The cultural programme included dance performances ‘Enigma’ and ‘Women Empowerment’. The chief guest congratulated the scholars for their commendable performance. Principal Surjeet Khanna encouraged and inspired the meritorious students. She urged the students to keep putting extraordinary efforts to achieve success in all their endeavours.

Kamal Public Senior Secondary School, Vikas Puri, celebrated the annual prize distribution ceremony. Mr Nand Kishore, MLA (Vikas Puri) was the chief guest. The welcome speech was delivered by the school manager Dr RK Tandon. A floral tribute was paid to the founder, Late Shri OP Tandon. The Founder Chairperson, Kamal Rani Tandon was also present. The programme included performance ‘Gannayaka Ganesh’ and musical ballet ‘Nritya Vatika’. Annual Report was presented by principal Reema Tandon. Vote of Thanks was proposed by the Principal.
