The Central Vigilance Commission is investigating almost everything related to Commonwealth Games — from display boards to installation of air-conditioners. But, poor response from the project executing agencies is a probable reason for the slow progress of investigations. Most of the cases are related to DDA, Delhi Government and MCD.

The commission, in an RTI reply, had said in many cases the replies from the concerned bodies were awaited since January-February 2010. In case of a complaint against Chief Engineer, CPWD regarding alleged irregularities in tenders for LED display board at MCD National Stadium, Mathura Road, the CVC said the factual report from the department’s Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) is awaited since January 2010.

The DDA CVO is yet to submit a vigilance report on construction of the Indoor Stadium for Badminton and Squash at Siri Fort Auditorium. Similarly, DDA is yet to submit a report on alleged irregularities in purchase of air-conditioners for flats since March 2010. In just one case, related to construction of swimming pool, training hall and athletic track at the Games village near Akshardham, the contract was terminated due to alleged irregularities.
