Almost 12 days after former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh was rushed to AIIMS from Tihar Jail, doctors say there has been a considerable improvement in his health. Singh may be hospitalised for another three-four days.

“For Singh, 0.8-0.9 mg/dl of creatinine levels is normal, stretchable to a maximum of 1.1 mg/dl,” said a senior doctor.

His blood tests show the levels at 1.45 mg/dl. The functioning of Singh’s transplanted kidney has been deteriorating due to a urinary tract infection. “Such infections are common for transplant patients. He also has mild diabetes, “ he added.
Medical reports submitted to the high court stated that Singh is suffering from diabetes, hypothyroid etc.
