Chief minister Mayawati on Tuesday said the owner of the Wikileaks was either playing in the hands of her political adversaries or had gone mad and be sent to a lunatic asylum.

Taking strong exception to the website expose on her and her aides, the chief minister said the owner of Wikileaks had been spreading canard, giving baseless reports about Bahujan Samaj Party general secretary and UP advisory council chairman Satish Chandra Mishra and the state cabinet secretary Shashank Shekhar Singh for the past two days.

“This indicated that owner of the Wikileaks had either gone made or is playing in the hands of opposition parties to malign the image of her government,” she said.

“If there is no place left in the mental asylums in his country we will advise his country’s government to send the Wikileaks owner to the asylum in Agra,” she said. “I will now give more importance to Mishra and Singh if such a malicious campaign continues against her government’s officers and functionaries having clean image,” said the CM, while speaking to media persons in Lucknow on Tuesday.

CM said Mishra and Singh would take legal action and give legal notices to the newspapers and the news channels giving baseless reports based on the Wikileaks expose.

Mayawati cautioned her partymen against the reports based on the expose referring to the happenings of 2007 to 2009. But these happening were being reported in the media in 2011 when the state was going to face assembly elections. This reflected that the whole issue had political overtones, she said.

She condemned Wikileaks and a section of media for giving reports without taking the version of her party and her government. This also reflected on their anti-dalit mentality, she said.

Mayawati also targeted a Bharatiya Janata Party leader saying he was very happy while referring to the Wikileaks expose about a special plane being sent to Mumbai to purchase her sandals. The BJP leader did not appear so happy even when he was made a member of Rajya Sabha, said the CM.

“It appears that the BJP leader accompanied the Wikileaks owner to Mumbai to buy her sandals,” said the chief minister without naming the BJP leader.

About the Wikileaks’ reference and the BJP leader’s statement about the kitchen at the CM’s house, Mayawati said it appeared that the saffron party leader and the Wikileaks owner were working in her kitchen.
