Anna Hazare refuses to commit on Kejriwal fast

Veteran anti-graft activist Anna Hazare kept everyone guessing about whether he would join his former lieutenant, Arvind Kejriwal’s indefinite fast from March 23.

Hazare, who is on his way to Mount Abu along with former army chief general VK Singh, announced his Jantantra Yatra from March 31 from Amritsar’s Jalianwala Bagh.

He and Singh explained that their new outfit Jantantra Morcha would not be part of any political party, or contest elections or be attached to any seat of power.

When asked whether or not he would join Kejriwal on his March 23 fast, pat came the reply, “We have already told you. We are not going to align with any political party.”

However, to a pointed query on if he will join Kejriwal, founder of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), after March 23, Hazare clarified, “I may go if I have time... We are clear that we would not share each others’ stage.
