Annual Day at Carmel Convent, Chanakyapuri, recently celebrated its annual day. In keeping with the centenary year of Delhi, the theme of the programme was ‘Delhi Ek Jharokha’. The event began with a narration on the River Yamuna. The students showcased their talent through songs and dances. Principal, Sister Nirmalini proposed the vote of thanks.
Queen Mary’s School, Tis Hazari, celebrated its 100 years of educating the girl child at Chhatarsal Stadium, Model Town. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Arvinder Singh Lovely, Minister of Transport and Education. The function began with the students showcasing dances from various states of India followed by the performance ‘Waqt ki Awaz’. The students displayed drills, aerobics and karate stunts. The function was presided over by Rev. SK Singh, Bishop of Delhi and Chairman Queen Mary’s School. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs Kapur, Principal, Queen Mary’s School.
De Indian Public School, Rohini, organised a winter carnival, which included competitions such as baby show, dance dhamaka and an art show in which more than three hundred students participated. The Chairman of the school, HR Gupta, ex-secretary, CBSE, appreciated the efforts of the staff and students in making the carnival a grand success.
St. Andrews Scots Senior Secondary School, I.P. Extension, hosted a winter carnival. Arvinder Singh, Minister of Education and Transport, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest . The event was inaugurated by the Guest of Honour Dr Anil Kumar, director Department of Environment, Dr BC Sabata, Sr. Scientist, Department of Environment along with the Principal, Mrs PL Rana. The students presented a blend of mythology in contemporary form.
