Usually a plain compendium of figures, tables, data and hard-hitting statistics, the Delhi Police's decided to add more colour and especially a bit more of its legacy to its annual report card.

Described as 'a visually appealing, corporate-style reference handbook' by the commissioner, each picture, he said, presents to its reader a facet of the Delhi Police in its entirety which doesn't normally meet the eye, including its history.

The two pages aim to provide readers a glimpse of its modern history — from the Delhi Durbar of 1911 to the birth of what we now know as the Delhi Police, amidst intra-religious strife in 1948. http://www.hindustantimes.com/Images/HTEditImages/Images/07-01-12-metro4c.jpg

On September 2, HT was the first to have attempted to sketch the contours of the Delhi Police's century-old legacy as part of its 'Delhi 100 Series'.

"The two pages serve as a microcosm of the entire report, right from pictures of our first headquarters at Kashmere Gate, to the induction of our first women officers,” said an officer.
