Chetan was one of the survivors in Sunday morning’s Blueline accident, but his wife was not as lucky. He said that both he and his wife had just alighted from a train and were about to board a bus for Badarpur when the Blueline hit them. “After the bus hit me, I fell down. I looked for my wife Satna who was lying beside me. I touched her face to see if she was alive, but saw her dying before losing consciousness,” Chetan said.
Another accident victim was admitted at AIIMS with several internal injuries on Sunday night. He has been identified as Phool Kumar (24), a resident of Faridabad. Meanwhile, Anil Kumar, the driver of the rogue Blueline that killed seven people, had five policemen guarding his ward for the second consecutive day on Monday.
Kumar had been severely beaten up by angry locals on Sunday. The police said the driver had been booked on six occasions in the last one year for various traffic violations, adding that as soon as he was declared medically fit he would be sent to judicial custody.
